DOT Compliant Outfitters exists to fix one problem: getting compliant should not cost you a day off the road.

Two businesses, one reason

We do two things that look unrelated and are not. We install the safety devices Massachusetts requires on heavy vehicles, and we stock the high-visibility apparel the people around those vehicles have to wear.

Both exist because compliance usually fails in the same way — not because somebody refused, but because the requirement was unclear, the parts came from three suppliers, and the vehicle had to come off the road twice to sort it out. We took on the sourcing and the sequencing so that the customer's side of it is one booking or one order.

On the install side

We take the order, source the parts, and do the fitting. You are not chasing a supplier for a side guard and then finding somebody to mount it, and you are not discovering at fitment that what arrived does not suit your frame rail.

The vehicle leaves with an installation record. That document is the point of the exercise as much as the hardware is — a device fitted with no record of it is a conversation you will be having again later.

On the gear side

We stock hi-vis that actually meets the current ANSI/ISEA 107 standard, in the classes people actually need, and we say which class each garment is on its own page rather than leaving you to infer it from a photograph.

There is a lot of apparel sold as high-visibility that would not pass a serious look. The difference is not visible in a product photo, which is exactly why it is worth being specific in writing.

Where we work

The install work is Massachusetts. The regulations we work to are Massachusetts regulations, and the vehicles come to us.

The gear ships nationwide. If you are outfitting a crew in another state, that side of the business is open to you regardless of where the trucks are.
